Ebola Phishing and Malware Campaigns
US-Cert has made an interesting post on Ebola phishing scams as well as malware campaigns. As we know, whenever something is "in the news" (including tragic events, Olympic events, and even disease outbreaks) the spammers eventually start trying to take advantage with a spam or malware campaign. A managed anti-spam service like CudaMail sees these campaigns all the time. As usual, some basic hints include:
- Do not follow unsolicited web links or attachments in email messages.
- Maintain up-to-date antivirus software.

spɹɐʍʞɔɐB writing is spammers new trick
Interesting title: spɹɐʍʞɔɐB writing is spammers' new mail filter avoidance trick There's a great story on the Register about a new email filter avoidance trick being used by spammers. Changing the direction of writing and the letters in words helps them avoid more filters. A spam-filter may be used to looking for "Viagra" but not "argaiV" To read more about the issue, "'woleb knil eht no kcilc'".
